The SUPER Natural programme in Barnes runs from 24 October to 1 November 2026, and every activity is included in a standard entry ticket.
Children will be able to carve pumpkins for the otters at the WWT London Wetland Centre this October half term. The Barnes reserve is running a Halloween programme called SUPER Natural from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2026.
The hands-on activities take their cue from the animals and landscapes of the reserve, and are meant for families who want something seasonal that will not scare young children. Children can make willow wands and mix marshland potions. There is also a chance to model wetland creatures in clay.
Families can also go on a fungi hunt or a cryptid hunt, which introduces visitors to the real-life superpowers of the animals that live on the wetlands. An interactive live show, Professor Prankster’s Magical Mistake, asks children to help put right a spell that has gone wrong.
The whole programme is included with standard entry. Tickets start at £11.12 for children aged 3 to 17 and £17.10 for adults with them, and young adults aged 18 to 24 pay from £15.53. Children aged 3 and under go free. Tickets can be booked online on the WWT website.
The centre says it is fully accessible. The programme is aimed at families with young children, but anyone can come along.
Outside the half-term events, the reserve covers more than 100 acres. Otters live there alongside reptiles and amphibians such as lizards, frogs and snakes. Birdwatchers can look out for species ranging from bitterns to egrets. Children also have an outdoor adventure play area.
