The garden first opened in 2019 and has since raised more than £1.7 million for the charity, which funds research at The Royal Marsden.

Who created the garden

The designer Anya Hindmarch, a trustee of the charity, created the garden with the fashion writer Camilla Morton. They made it in memory of their friend Michael Howells, a production designer. Its name comes from Ever After, a film Howells worked on.

Dame Anya called the garden a treasured place where families and friends gather at Christmas to remember loved ones. She said it would be “wonderful to see Duke of York Square shining brightly” once more.

The garden is in Duke of York Square, just off King’s Road, postcode SW3 4LY. Sloane Square is the closest Tube station.
