For the first time, visitors can take home flowers from the Mayfair hotel's florists. British seasonal stems arrive at the shop every day.
Claridge’s has opened a flower shop on Brook’s Mews, just behind the Mayfair hotel. For the first time, visitors can buy flowers like those in the hotel’s well-known arrangements and carry them home.
Claridge’s Flowers takes delivery of fresh seasonal stock every day, and British-grown flowers are at the centre of its range. Dahlias and delphiniums will be on sale, as will hyacinths and hydrangeas. Each bunch is put together with the same care that goes into the displays inside the hotel.
The shop also plans a run of evening sessions under the name Flowers After Hours. Those taking part build their own floral display with guidance from the shop’s in-house florists.
The flower shop is the newest addition to a hotel that already has its own restaurant, spa, bar and bakery, along with a reading room and a shop. Claridge’s has 269 rooms and suites and has been in Mayfair for almost two centuries.
Founder Richard Eagleton said the shop brings expert floristry together with the service Claridge’s is famous for. He called it “an honour to become part of the history of this iconic hotel”.
Managing director Thomas Kochs said guests and visitors often talk to him at length about the hotel’s floral installations. He described them as “a core part of the hotel’s DNA” and said he was pleased people could now take the same flowers home with them.
The shop’s postcode is W1K 4HR, and Bond Street is the closest Tube station for anyone travelling by Underground.
