Katherine Hubbard’s The Great Room at Studio Voltaire
Also new in London this week, the US artist Katherine Hubbard has unveiled the latest version of The Great Room at Studio Voltaire. Hubbard began the work in 2020 and is still adding to it.
It uses several kinds of photographic work to respond to LATE, a progressive brain disease, and what it has done to her mother, Antonette Berger. The piece also deals with the feelings involved in clearing out a home before a move into residential care.
The Great Room is on show until 10 January 2027, so it closes well before the Ryman survey does.
