Rebuilt 1899 Mercedes van to go on show on Pall Mall before Brighton run
The Ideal Van, built under licence by a London firm, will join the 1 November Veteran Car Run from Hyde Park to the Sussex coast.
Passengers board at Euston for a one-hour return trip with performers and hot chocolate, and each guest takes home a silver sleigh bell.
The Polar Express train ride is coming back to London for Christmas, and every journey starts from a platform at Euston station. Each trip is a one-hour round journey to a make-believe North Pole.
The ride returns after its season last year sold out. Passengers first wait on the platform and watch the train pull in. Once it stops, they board, find their places at tables lit by lanterns and settle in before departure.
The hour is built around the Polar Express story. Some of its best-known scenes are acted out inside the carriages, so passengers can follow the tale as the train travels. The organisers describe the experience as fully immersive.
A conductor walks the length of the train, clipping golden tickets along the way. A cast of performers entertains passengers from departure until the train returns.
Hot chocolate is a big part of the trip. Dancing chefs carry it through the carriages and serve it at the tables.
Before the journey ends, every guest is handed a silver sleigh bell. The organisers bill it as the first gift of the season, and passengers take it home with them.
The London season is short, and the ride will only be at Euston for a set period before it leaves the capital again. Last year every date sold out, so tickets are likely to go quickly.
Dates, prices and booking are on the official London Polar Express ride website.
