A new team is refreshing the Garratt Lane pub as an all-day spot serving coffee from the morning, with Fergus Wilford as its first chef in residence.
The Grosvenor Arms, a neighbourhood pub on Garratt Lane in Earlsfield, is set to reopen in November 2026 with an entirely new team in charge. Fergus Wilford, who was previously head chef at Fallow, will run the kitchen for roughly its first two months.
Before the doors open again, the pub is being given a refresh. It will then trade as an all-day venue, so locals will be able to drop in for a coffee early in the morning. Food will be handled by a chef in residence, and Wilford takes the first slot.
Wilford has recently cooked at two residencies. The first, at Naughty Piglets, went down well, and he followed it with a stint at Giacco’s in Highbury. There he served grey mullet cured in citrus and paired with plums, cod cheeks alongside a mussel tartare sauce, and potato wotsits with a chive emulsion. His menu for Earlsfield has not been published yet.
The new operator is Leisure Works, a young company that looks set to open more pubs in future. It says it relies on AI and other new technology in the background to help the business work more efficiently.
The reopening comes in a year that has already brought a run of new London pubs with a strong focus on food.
The Grosvenor Arms is at 204 Garratt Lane, London SW18 4ED. More information is on the pub’s website and on Instagram at @thegrosvenorarmsearlsfield.
