Carnegie Library Hub, the charity that runs a historic south London library as a community centre, is recruiting for several roles. Applications for a part-time outreach officer close on 30 October 2026.
The outreach post is part-time on a one-year contract, and the person appointed will work alongside the hub’s existing team. The hub says some groups in its diverse local area do not yet use what it offers or benefit from it.
The new officer’s job is to make contact with those groups, look at how the hub’s services could help them and build partnerships that work for both sides.
The charity also wants trustees, each of whom would lead on a set area. It is looking for people with experience in human resources, community outreach and heritage, as well as someone who owns a local business.
Trustees help set the charity’s strategic direction and support the staff who run the hub. The organisation describes the role as a very rewarding experience.
Separately, the hub takes on community caretakers on a rolling basis to work regular shifts. It also asks local people who have an idea and the skills to carry it out to get in touch, even if no matching role has been advertised.
The hub calls itself a small but growing community business. It says extra expertise would help it become more sustainable and better support the community, the library and its listed building.
Applications close on 30 October 2026.
