White Rabbit Projects, the group behind Lina Stores and Kricket, is opening a Mediterranean restaurant with a late-licence bar and DJs.
Alto 19, a Mediterranean restaurant, opens at the top of Locke Canary Wharf on 15 October 2026, taking over the hotel’s 19th floor.
Behind it is White Rabbit Projects, the group whose restaurants include Lina Stores and Kricket. It also operates restaurants in Locke hotels, including Nuno Mendes’ place in Lisbon.
Chris Dargavel is executive chef. His last role was head chef at Daphne’s. Before that he led the kitchen at J Sheekey, and he was part of the team that opened Scott’s.
Dargavel describes the food as “deliberately unfussy”. Small bites open the menu, among them crab fritti served with aioli and a gnocco fritto done cacio e pepe style. A vongole vermentino bruschetta with Amalfi lemon appears among the starters. Pasta gets plenty of space: porcini agnolotti comes with parmesan fonduta and black truffle, and there is a Barolo ragu made with braised beef shin.
For the table, the bigger dishes are salt-baked branzino, a cottoletta of dry-aged ribeye finished with fried garlic gremolata, and a rice dish of Sicilian sweet red prawns with cured lardo.
Desserts have not been listed in full. One confirmed option is a citrus tart, caramelised, with chestnut honey and mascarpone on the side of the plate.
Up on the same floor there will be a bar that stays open late, with a late licence and DJs. A private dining room is also planned. The hotel stands just across the river from the O2.
Alto 19 is on the 19th floor at 2 Cartier Circle on the Canary Wharf Estate, E14 5HF. More information is on the restaurant’s website, and it posts on Instagram as @alto19.ldn.
